Andrea Schumann was born in Helmstedt in 1956 and studied at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg, Germany, and later at the University of the Arts in Berlin, where he became a freelance artist with Professor Lemcke.
Andrea Schumann died in Berlin on 27 September 2015.
Her paintings, which were created in the tradition of German Expressionism, were exhibited in individual exhibitions in Berlin, Hof and Helmstedt as well as in collective exhibitions, a. in Los Angeles, Berlin and Würzburg.
The study of natural history, a classical education as a painter and the ever new process of painting and reflection marked the stages of her life and artistic creation. The longing for harmony and perfection on the one hand, and the knowledge of the imperfection and transience of being, permeated their life and their art.
She provided works for television productions and various art projects.
Some of her works are represented in public and private collections, among others. the Senate of Berlin, the Ludwig Collection (Lower Saxony), the Kunstothek Stadt Helmstedt, the city of Fiuggi (Italy) and the Kulturfabrik Haldensleben
